Jewelry Shop In Beijing: Large Notice Over Entrance To Jewelry Shop Also Known As Jade Garden.

Picture shows entrance to shop in Beijing with large panel with Chinese characters and English over doorway, titled Ting Zan, Jewelry And Jade Garden.

Perhaps this jewelry shop in Wangfujing Street, Beijing, with the name, 'Jewelry And Jade Garden' is a clear indication that many changes have been made in China during the past years. In the not too distant past, going to a jewelry shop to buy rings, bracelets, necklaces etc., would certainly not have been encouraged. In the modern world, with more disposable income, not only the ''tourists'' but the Chinese people themselves have become the ''customers' visiting the jewelry shops, to buy a piece of jewelry, either for themselves or as a gift for a special friend. Wangfujing Street always seems to have a ''surprise'' for a visitor or two. The jewelry shop might be one of them, but what about "Starbucks"? A friend in Beijing said, ''Let us go to Starbucks for a drink!" One reply was, ''What is Starbucks ?" Of course, the coffee was delicious, and the cakes were mouthwatering, and this visit to Starbucks in Wangfujing Street, updated our knowledge of the modern world! Perhaps for us the coffee in Starbucks was more satisfying than a piece of jade from the Jewelry Shop !
